Do you love to sing and perform?

Do you fancy being part of a new group and meeting new faces?

Then come and meet our enthusiastic and friendly classes and choir.

Everyone is welcome!

Sound Voices provide a range of classes for adults, including musical theatre groups, singing groups
and one-to-one singing lessons.

Your questions answered...

"I can't read sheet music"
You don't need to be able to read sheet music. Lyrics are always made available.

"Do I need to audition?"
No. We are open to all. Everybody has a voice.

"I can't sing. I'm tone deaf"
Most people are not tone deaf, they just need to be given the confidence and skills to sing, particularly if they were criticised as a child.

"Do I have to sing by myself?"

No, you are never made to sing by yourself, unless you'd like to or are attending a one-to-one session.

"I don't know what type of singing voice I have"
Singing groups are usually split into four sections. Sopranos are for ladies who like to sing high notes. Altos for ladies who'd like to sing a little lower. The Tenors are for men who have a high range and the Bass is the lowest section for the male voice. This can be easily worked out when you join.

"Can I try a session before I commit?"
Yes. Come along for a free taster session. If it's not for you, that's no problem.

"What types of songs do you sing?"
We sing a range of musical styles, from pop songs by artists such as Adelle and The Kings of Leon, to West End and Broadway musical theatre hits, classical pieces by composers such as John Rutter and much more.

"Imagine you're having a tough week and could do with your spirits being lifted. Cue Sound Voices, where we sing, laugh, perform and have fun together. Sally has shown us that we all have a voice and a performer within ourselves. It is so satisfying to start to learn a song together and over the weeks hear the different harmonies come together and to share that moment of joy when we know we've cracked it!"    Jo

"I joined Sound Voices a year ago and haven't looked back. I look forward to singing every week and get to spend time with a wonderful group of people, doing what I love. What could be better!"    Kay

"It has been proven that singing benefits the mind and soul. Being part of a choir plays a huge role in improving mental and physical wellbeing. People often say to me that they love singing but can't sing. I am passionate to show everyone that they can sing"
