Sally Campion-Jones LLCM DIP RADA CERT ED
Sally began her career in Norfolk by attending theatre courses, taking part in festivals and performing in shows, but she had always specialised in singing, having begun lessons at the age of 10 and progressing to LLCM status aged 16. At 18 she gained a place on a three year acting course at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts.
Her theatre credits include performing with The Royal Shakespeare Company, taking part in rehearsed readings for The National Theatre Studio and The Royal Court Theatre, performing at The Kings Head in London, Battersea Arts Centre, The Edinburgh Fringe and Norwich Playhouse. Sally returned to Norfolk to study for her Post Graduate Certificate in Education so that she could specialise in teaching singing and drama, with a particular interest in musical theatre. She began working as a freelance vocal coach in 2006, having been engaged by Norfolk and Norwich Community Arts and The Garage arts venue in Norwich, to deliver a number of singing projects. Sally has worked for a number of companies since then. Theatretrain in Norwich as a vocal coach, giving training to a choir of 80 young students who have been fortunate enough to perform at The London Palladium, Sadler’s Wells, The O2, The Royal Albert Hall and Norwich Playhouse. The Musical Director for Encore Choir in Wymondham. She also works as a Creative Practitioner for the Youth Company at Stage Two and was the Musical Director for Grease at The Theatre Royal in July 2018. She is currently working with the Youth Company who will be putting on West Side Story at The Theatre Royal in 2020. In 2007 she created Sound Voices Choir at The Anglian Region Theatre School. In 2008 Sally began teaching a number of after-school drama and musical theatre groups in the South Norfolk area and continues to develop Sound Voices as a company. As well as her group commitments, Sally teaches students privately and in schools to prepare for singing exams, musical theatre exams, GCSE music performances and preparation for auditions. |
